Directing & Shooting...
...both commercials and movies has not deterred Gregg from pursuing his life's greatest passion: world-class competitive yodeling. Though his demo reels showcase his vibrant visual style, dramatic lighting and a knack for comedy, they barely hint at this true calling.
But the path to this life-goal hasn’t exactly been direct. Early on, his magna cum laude MFA in Film, and a slew of presitigious awards, including the Eastman Kodak Cinematography Scholarship and selection to SHOOT Magazine's New Directors Showcase, nearly ended his dream before it began.
Likewise, the many film festival screenings and awards that have followed, along with guest lectureships at The NC School of the Arts, UNC-Greensboro, Piedmont Community College and elsewhere, threatened to carry him far away from the world of alpine singing. And undoubtedly, his D.P. work on movies for Lionsgate, IFC, Warner Bros. and New Films might have easily distracted someone less focused.
But not Gregg.
Undaunted, Gregg knows his film career is merely an interim step on the road to eventual international yodeling acclaim. In fact, he’ll readily admit that any given movie or commercial may be his last because he finds the call of the lederhosen increasingly hard to resist.
